Amazing stay
I had an absolutely fantastic experience yurting for the first time! The location was great, and the hosts were fantastic. Everything was immaculately clean and provided everything you needed. Last night, the hot tub was amazing in the crisp air at 9 pm. I definitely would do it again! The Butchers pub a couple of minutes walk away was a huge plus with a roaring fire, good beers and excellent food.

Rowan Yurt
I stayed in the Rowan Yurt 12th-15th September (checked out this morning) and all I can say is wow. From the start of the booking the uppergate team have been fantastic with the communication when my circumstances changed, so patient and understanding. Upon arriving at the yurt I was blown away. The photos online do not do it justice. I am a very picky head housekeeper and I could not find 1 problem. Absolutely immaculate throughout,peaceful and comfortable.

Genuinely do not have a negative thing to say. Owners checked in on night 1 to check I had settled, it was great knowing they were on hand if needed but did not feel like they were over bearing. I didn't want to leave. Already planning when I go back.

Maythorn Yurt
I booked the Maythorn Yurt as a surprise for my partners birthday. We had such a wonderful time. The Yurt is nice and secluded and made for a really romantic setting. It was warm, comfortable and spacious. I hadn't realised before arriving that the kitchen and bathroom were accessible without having to go outside (as I've needed to do on other glamping trips) which was a huge bonus. It wasn't really like glamping at all...it was like staying in a lovely lodge! They provided blankets, dressing gowns, Crocs, torches, coffee, sauces, shower gel, washing up liquid, tea towels, dishcloths etc etc.

The hot tub was wonderful and easy to use. We enjoyed using the log burner at night, (even although it was August!). The logs were provided (which again isn't what I've experienced elsewhere). We used the pool and sauna, which were clean and well maintained. There was no one else in there which felt very exclusive! We were also able to charge the car which was good after a decent drive.

We went on two walks during our stay. We climbed to the top of the hills for the most breathtaking views. It was a perfect stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Thank you Steve and Alison

Maythorn Yurt
I came to Uppergate Farm with my boyfriend for 2 nights and stayed in the Maythorn Yurt. We were welcomed to the farm and were shown where the shop, office and pool was and then we were given the keys to the yurt. The yurt was beautiful and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was spotless. The main room was cosy and warm with the comfortable chairs, log burner and king size bed.

The hot tub was amazing and easy to use. The scenery outside the yurt was stunning with woodland and farm animals. The team at Uppergate Farm are very friendly and we enjoyed our experience of feeding the farm animals with them. We had a very pleasant stay and we would recommend this to anyone wanting to relax and unwind. We will book here again soon

Uppergate Barn
We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Barn. There were 9 of us and the 3 Grandchildren aged 9,4,& 2 had a lovely time helping Klaus feed the animals. He was very informative and I think it is very important that they have an insight into where their food comes from and animal welfare. We also enjoyed our daily slot in the indoor pool. The Barn is very well equipped and we had a comfortable stay. Hepworth village is very pretty set in beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We hope to return next year

Breathtaking visit- Uppergate Farm
Fantastic stay from start to finish. Contact prior to our visit was outstanding with all the information we needed before arrival. Upon arrival the yurt was amazing. Lots of little touches, everything had been thought of. From a robe, crocs and warm socks to all the little finishing touches. The yurt was emaculate and very cosy. We did the animal feeding one more which was lovely and very informative. We didn't use the swimming pool but it looked lovely. The pub 'The Butchers Arms was a 10 min walk and was a lovely quaint village pub with excellent service and fantastic food. I would highly recommend Uppergate farm. We will definitely come again

The most peaceful relaxing place and so welcoming this place is not to be missed amazing
I’m leaving today from the safari tent and really didnt want to leave it’s been amazing they let me feed the baby lambs go see the pigs showed me and my partner the progress their making what an absolute amazing place so peaceful and relaxing.

The people here are so friendly and helpful can’t wait to see what the out door sauna is gonna be like once finished. As far as the safari tent itself every little thought as been put into it right down to the bed socks ,tourch charger ports everything you can think off u literally bring your own clothes and food nothing else needed amazing

Uppergate Barn
Another fantastic weekend staying at Uppergate Farm in the Barn. As ever, we had a lovely family weekend and even though our boys are a bit older they still insisted on helping Steve and Klaus with the animals each morning. This is a lovely touch (and bottle feeding the lambs is well worth getting up for) and really makes this a special place. Not forgetting access to the pool, the hot-tub, the games room and of course the pub which is a mere 2 minute walk away and is doing great food and drinks. Perfect place for a stay!

Thanks Team Uppergate, we will be back.

Amazing stay at the farm!
We have just returned from our week's holiday at this fantastic farm. My grandson absolutely loved watching the animals being fed morning and night and collected the eggs in the mornings. Klavs was absolutely great with all of the children. Oliver wanted to draw him a picture but was too shy to give it to him, so he left it in the cottage for him. Hope he got it! Haha.

Everything here was spotlessly clean and the onsite pool was fantastic. We used it every day and was solely for our use. 70 minutes every day. We will be back in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone at Upper gate for making us so welcome and special thanks to Klavs from Oliver

Bray Cottage
We stayed in Bray Cottage for a weekend in November 2024 as a group of 6 adults, 2 small children and a dog. The weather was dreadful, first ice and snow then wind and rain so we were very glad to have such a warm and well equipped house with plenty of space for us all. We received a warm welcome and a little tour of the facilities including the shop, play areas and the pool.

Despite the weather we managed to get out to feed the animals and really enjoyed the private swim/sauna sessions as well as the hot tub for the adults. Everything was extremely well organised and thought through, even down to being able to borrow wellies and buy essentials from the shop. The pub is just minutes away and does excellent food. Thank you for a great stay.

We had a great stay and would definitely go back! The yurt is so beautiful and loads of little extras make it really special. We felt so cosy with the wood burning stove and it was a great place to really switch off. The local pub does great food and you are really close to the beauty of the peak district

We arrived in the middle of a -7C freeze over post massive snow fall. The host was waiting for us in the local pub to ensure we got to our accommodation ok. After a thoroughly warm and helpful welcome he drove us up the farm track in snow and ice to our Yurt. I cannot stress enough the attention to detail and the overall quality of the accommodation. I was celebrating my birthday and will be back every year (at least) if I can! A fantastic place to stay in idyllic surroundings.

The instructions provided made it really easy to find the farm, the key and the the yurt. From the outside we initially thought the yurt looked older and more weather worn than in the photos. However once we were inside we were so happy with the yurt. It's huge. The underfloor heating and log fire made it a really cosy retreat. We spent lots of time in the hot tub and enjoyed and evening in the onsite pool. The king size bed was very comfortable and the cooking & bathroom facilities were better than expected for a yurt!

It was incredible the whole team were so welcoming. We got produce from the farm shop for our dinners and breakfast. The yurt was clean and tidy and we didn’t want for anything. The hot tub was clean and we really enjoyed the whole experience. We went for my partners birthday and we would go again, they provided a list of local walks that we can do and also laminated maps that you could take as well which we found very helpful.

We had a wonderful time at the Yurt celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We found everything to be as advertised on the website. The Yurt was comfortable and cozy with great aesthetics and attention to detail. Very professionally and effectively run by the owners who made themselves available should we have needed anything during our stay.
